Let’s take a closer look. The scarab said that Wally would “cease” not die or be destroyed or eliminated or anything more violent in description. They were running around a very strong magnetic field (which actually would have been very dangerous for the rest of the team to be near). As he was absorbing the magnetic energy, Barry reached out to touch him and his hand passed right through him. His molecules were starting to get out of phase with the rest of the world. And when he “died” his matter literally disappeared. His whole body vanished, leaving no trace behind. Not even ashes or a body. Matter cannot be created nor destroyed, only changed in form. Of course, this is a kids show, but just last week, they made us believe that two team members had been shot in cold blood. Wally’s atoms are out of phase on a quantum mechanical level and therefore cannot interact with the world. He has ceased.
And therefore, I dub season three to be titled: “The Return of Wally West!”
